The Good Practice Group is a ‘social business‘ that seeks to reduce the burden of human suffering in Sri Lanka and elsewhere through the development of good quality, equitable, accessible and sustainable mental health and psychosocial support services.
The Good Practice Group (GPG) was founded in 2010 by a group of practitioners in the field of mental health and psychosocial support with a shared history of working together in the context of armed conflict, natural disaster and adversity in Sri Lanka. Informed by their shared and convergent experiences, they formed The Good Practice Group to respond flexibly and creatively to the challenges of building sustainable systems of care for vulnerable groups and individuals.
The Good Practice Group works primarily through supporting and mobilizing networks of professionals and other stakeholders to work together on strategic interventions to improve services. The work of The Good Practice Group is carried out either through voluntary actions or through paid service contracts that help support its self-financed work.
